The Older Brother
In truth the man can hardly be compared,
With his short, wiry build and lanky form,
To his younger brother: broad, strong, and fair.
Not like gold sun, his locks are silver storm.
And pale, pale working hands of torn, bit nails,
Affixed upon firm, thinly muscled arms.
Stood upright on legs trained to never fail,
Still unimpressive to his brother's charms.
A worn, tired soldier to a fresh youth.
With transparent eyes, not hued with the sky,
His manner is uncontrolled and uncouth,
Not like his brother's: restrained, strict, and shy.
Beside the younger, time exacts its cost,
On the older, born of an era lost.
I'm just "That Asian" I guess, a history nerd who's become thoroughly fascinated with the Kingdom of Prussia.

There's the saying, "I want to fall in love like an anime", but I would never want that - it would require too much awkwardly suggestive falling and the growth of an ungodly amount of eyelashes on my part. Also the achievement of strange proportions, weird fan-service occurrences, and it would probably take about 500 chapters to finally even achieve a proper confession.
God, the more I think about it, the more it seems like it would be an absolute pain - at least for the female party. The guy would probably not mind so much, hence the fact that it's generally a male protagonist making that statement about love. Huh.
I'm in the thick of developing an original concept right now, so I suppose I won't be posting much. That, and I have exams coming up. Ugh. ~imdeadplz (https://www.deviantart.com/imdeadplz)
I hope you're all well, and I really only wrote this because I needed a new journal entry.
It's easy for some of us to forget the tragedies and battles being fought in the world, and those that have been resolved in years past. However, today let's take a moment to consider the lives lost for the sake of the nation and its future, regardless of country or history. Let us not forget to thank the soldiers - whether they be current or retired - for the sacrifices made and, in some cases, the blood shed for us so that we can live with freedoms and dignity.
Even if you don't believe in war and conflict, I ask that you take a moment to recognize the men and women who have fought for your country and feel thankful.
Happy Veteran's Day.
